Temperance Sunday
We encourage people to observe temperance for Lent by staying off alcohol as a Lenten penance.

Morning Masses
Glengoole: each morning at 9.30
Gortnahoe: each morning at 9.30.

Ash Wednesday
Wednesday next is Ash Wednesday, the first Day of Lent, a day of fast and abstinence. Mass also in the evening with Mass in Glengoole at 7.00 and in Gortnahoe at 8.00. Ashes will be blessed and distributed at each Mass.

Lent
Please remember to make Lent a time for more prayer, a time for sacrifices and memory of the 40 Days of prayer spent by Jesus in the desert.

Trocaire
Boxes for all families in the parish are available on the seats in the Churches this week-end. Please give generous contributions at the end of Lent for the help of the poverty stricken. €155,750.20 was contributed to Trocaire in our diocese last year.

Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration in Glengoole on Wednesday from 10.00 to 6.45 and Gortnahoe on Thursday from 10.00 to 7.00. Please come and pray.

400 Club Draw
Parish 400 Club Draw and Parish Team Meeting will be Glengoole Hall this Monday night at 8.00.

Family Mass Meeting
Family Mass Meeting in preparation for March Sunday will be in Glengoole Hall this Monday night at 7.30.New members most welcome and necessary.

Gortnahoe Folk Choir
There will be choir practice in Gortnahoe Church this Wednesday at 8.30 after the evening Mass in preparation for Monday 16th March and for Easter.

Church Gate Collection
Glengoole Hall Church Gate Collection takes place this week-end. Proceeds of the Collection will go to second round of work on the Hall.

There was no winner of this week’s €20,000 Jackpot. Numbers drawn were 12, 13, 23 & 30. Lucky Dip winners were Joan Bourke, Gortnahoe, Keith Holohan, Gurteen, Mary Ryan (Fahy), Thurles Sean Cahill c/o P.J. Gleeson. €25 Sellers Prize winner was Hogans, Ballysloe. Next Draw is at Dollys, Glengoole. Jackpot €20,000. Reserve Jackpot €2,400.

Blood Transfusion Donor Clinic
Blood Transfusion Donor Clinic at the Dome, Semple Stadium, Thurles will be on Monday 16th from 2.00 to 5.00, on Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th from 6.00 to 9.00. Give a Blood donation if you can.

Clothing Recycling in aid of Meals on Wheels
MFRC Clothing Recycling Drive in aid of Meals on Wheels and Eldercare Service will be on Friday 27th February. Leave all bags of clothes at the Centre by 12 noon on Friday 27th. Please support.
Table Quiz in Prouts on Friday 20th February, commencing at 9.30 . Proceeds to the upkeep of Good Shepherd Cemetery. Please support.

Loving Father, in love for us you sent Your Son Jesus to save us from our sins. Have mercy on your people today and help us to begin this time of Lent as we gather to receive blessed ashes on Ash Wednesday.
