Gortnahoe: Each morning at 9,30.
Glengoole: Monday at 9.30.

Work commences on Glengoole Church
Work on Glengoole Church will be in progress on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week so no morning mass or Eucharistic adoration this week

Collection for Diocesan Needs
Thanks to all who contributed to the Collection for Diocesan Needs. If you have overlooked it, please contribute as soon as possible.

Mass for those taking exams
Annual Exam Mass will take place on Friday next the 10th of May in Gortnahoe Church at 8pm, A warm welcome is extended to all exam students and their families for this special Mass, whether you are a parishioner or not.

First Communion
First Communion for Gortnahoe school children is on Saturday the 11th of May at 11am in Gortnahoe Church, please remember them in your prayers.

Queen of the May
Family Mass for May is this Sunday 5th May, in Glengoole at 10.00 and in Gortnahoe at 11.15. Theme is honouring Mary, “Queen of the May”.

G.A.A. Lotto
There was no winner of the €2,400 Jackpot , numbers drawn were 6, ,8, 24 and 27. Lucky dip winners were Michael Heffernan jnr Glengoole, Jackie Kelly ,Grange, Ann Stokes, Gortnahoe , Margo Coady, Urard. €25 sellers prize: Mick Heffernan snr, Glengoole . Next draw on Thursday 9th May in Dolly’s, Glengoole for Jackpot of €4,600.

Collection for defibrillator group
Gortnahoe/Glengoole defibrillator group will hold their annual Church Gate Collection next weekend the 11th & 12th May. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

The Gathering
A meeting will be held on Thursday 9th May at 8pm in Gortnahoe Hall for the purpose of organising a local event to mark the Gathering 2013. All support will be greatly received.

Juvenile GAA
There will be a committee meeting held in the club rooms on Tuesday 7th May at 9pm. We ask all committee members to attend.

The Flying Nun Fund
Cake Sale in Glengoole Hall in aid of ‘The Flying Nun Fund’ on Sunday 5th May, after The Family Mass, Free tea and coffee. Donations of cakes, buns, tarts, bread and scones most welcome. Hall open at 7.00 pm on Saturday and 9.30 am on Sunday.

MFRC Course Information Morning
If you are under 35 and in receipt of Social Protection come to an Open Morning at the Millennium Family Resource Centre, Glengoole on Tuesday 14th May from 9.30 to 12.00.

Playground Group
Gortnahoe Playground Group would like to sincerely thank all those who sponsored, gave donations and supported us on a very successful Race Night. Your support and generosity was very much appreciated.

GG Challenge
Sunday 12th May will see the second annual GG Challenge Cycle and Family Fun Day. Proceeds towards Gortnahoe Community Playground and donation to Breast Cancer Research.

National Famine Memorial Day
Get on your Bike, come out and join in the fun! The National Famine Memorial Day in on the 12th May 2013. Parish Priests are asked to ring the Church bells on 12th May at 2pm to remember and honour the victims of the Great Famine (An Gorta Mór).

Prayer For Fine Weather
Let us pray for fine weather, so vital for the growth of grass for livestock on our farms. Reward the spirit of cooperation which continues among the farming community as they share dwindling fodder supplies. Bless the farming organisations and cooperatives and the Department of Agriculture for sourcing new fodder at home and abroad and providing finance at this time of crisis. Amen.
