Collection for the supply of flowers and decorations for the Church Sanctuaries
We so often hear the words of admiration for the flowers etc in our churches, especially at times of our special ceremonies. We are most grateful to our ladies for their involvement. You know that this costs money, so next weekend there will be a special collection to meet the costs involved throughout the year. Your generous support will be most welcome.
Thanks
Sincerest thanks to all for the support given to the Vehicle Run on Wednesday last. A special thanks to all who organized this special day, to those who ensured that everything ran so smoothly on the day, to Michael & Ally Hogan and to all others. It all proved such a support for Cancer Research, The Hope Foundation and the Gortnahoe Playground Committee.
Eucharistic Adoration
There will be Eucharistic Adoration in both churches this week and each week, in Glengoole Church on Wednesday from 10.00 to 9.00 and in Gortnahoe Church, Thursday from 10.00 to 9.00.

Annual Grange Guided Walk takes place on this Sunday 30th December at 1.15. Refreshments in Hogan’s afterwards. All are most welcome.
Fr. O’Rourke looks back on 2012
I knew for many years that I would reach retirement age before the start of 2012. What I did not know was what celebrating one’s Golden Jubilee would mean to me, how youthful or elderly I would feel at that stage, what offering my retirement to the Archbishop at 75 would mean for me, who the new Parish Priest would be and where I would fit into the new regime. Thank God I can honestly say that the transition has been for me so rewarding and fulfilling. I am so grateful to Fr. Irwin for making our working together so possible and so pleasant. I know that Archbishop Clifford did not mention the word retirement, but rather the words Assistant Pastor, in his letter to me, so work is still part of my role. Most especially I will carry my memories of the Golden Jubilee, June 4th and my huge appreciation of all it involved for the whole parish as recognition of my part in the parish for almost twenty three years, away beyond anything I deserved, but certainly it was a motivation for continued ministry, which I appreciate. May God, with all our efforts, make 2013 a great Year of Faith.
