Famine 1848 Walk
Famine 1848 Walk - 28 July at 3pm: from National Flag Monument, the Commons to War House. Be prepared to participate.

Mass at Ballynonty Memorial Garden
Mass will be offered at the Garden this Monday evening 16th July at 7.30. Everyone is invited to come along.

Annual Outing
Legion of Mary Annual Outing takes place on Thursday next 19th July. The bus will be leaving Glengoole at 9.20. Names of all who wish to travel to Mary McGivern or Fr. O'Rourke by Tuesday 17th July.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock
The Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday 5th August. The usual Bus from Ballingarry and Gortnahoe Parishes will travel. The bus will be leaving Ballingarry at 7.45 and will be in Ballysloe at 8.15 and Gortnahoe at 8.25. Charge is €20.00 for adults and €10.00 for children. Please give names to Bridie O'Shea or Gortnahoe Post Office or to Fr. O'Rourke as soon as possible.

Gortnahoe Senior Citizens
A reminder that there are 5 seats still available for bus tour to Ennis on the 7th August, returning on 8th. Please give names immediately to the Post Office.

Gortnahoe Senior Citizens DVD
DVD of Easter Bonnet Competition – April 1998 are available in the Post Office for €5.00. These would be Collectors Items for many in the parish.

Volunteers required
Work has commenced on Glengoole Hall and over the next six weeks volunteers will be required for power washing and painting. Dulux 'Let's Paint It' Project is providing the paint for the exterior of the Hall. Thanks to all who supported the Sponsored Walk. € 1,234 was raised.

G.A.A. Lotto
There was no winner of the € 10,000 on the 12th July. The numbers drawn were 20, 24, 25 & 28. Lucky Dip winners were Mick Ryan, Fennor, Paddy Skehan, Fennor, Mary Lawless, Garryclogh, and John O'Neill, c/o Delia, Gortnahoe. Seller €25 winner was Keith Corbett. Next Draw for €10,200 at Hogans, Ballysloe on 19th July.

Millennium Family Resource Centre
Open Interviews for Level 4 Employment Skills will be held on Mon. 23rd July and Tues. 22nd from 12.00 to 1.00.

FETAC Level 4 Tourism with Catering support part time course will commence in the MFRC in September. Please contact Anne or Josephine on 052 9157992 for more information.

Youth 2000 Summer Festival
Youth 2000 Summer Festival at Clonmacnoise to experience the Catholic Faith and meet new friends from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th August for young people ages 16 to 35. For info contact 01 6753690.

To Visitors: Experience a wonderful welcome home at the weekly Bingo on Saturday nights at 8.30 in Gortnahoe Hall. Over €1,600 in Prize money plus Jackpot of €150.
