50th International Eucharistic Congress Ireland
June 10th to 17th 2012

Golden Jubilee
Congratulations to V. Rev. John J. O'Rourke, A.P. on the Golden Jubilee of his Ordination to the Priesthood from all parishioners. We thank him for his service to our parish since 1989 and wish him well for the future.

Golden Jubilee Mass to celebrate V. Rev. John J. O'Rourke, A.P.'s Golden Jubilee will be in Church of the Sacred Heart, Gortnahoe on 4th June at 7pm. Archbishop Dermot Clifford will attend. There will be refreshments afterwards in Gortnahoe Hall. Donations of cakes, tarts and buns can be left into the hall from 5pm. All help welcome.

Annual Collection
Annual Collection for the Education of Priests is being taken up this week-end. If you have overlooked it, please contribute as soon as possible.

Family Mass
The monthly Family Mass will be this Sunday in Glengoole at 10.00 and in Gortnahoe at 11.15. Theme is The Eucharist.

Gortnahoe: Each morning except Monday at 9.30

Eucharistic Congress
Final Mass (Statio Orbis) Tickets that were ordered are now available from Fr. Irwin. Please collect your ticket from him.

Thanks
The GG Charity Cycle Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in their inaugural Cycle on May 13th. Valuable funds were raised for Heart to Hand and NCBI. Sincere thanks also to all helpers. It was a wonderful success. Do not miss it next year.

Collection Proceeds
Thanks to all who supported the recent church gate collection for Thurles Friends of Children of Chernobyl which raised €832.

Eucharistic Congress
Archbishop Dermot Clifford and the other bishops are deeply grateful for your donations to the four Collections for the Congress since 2009. Your support means that Ireland is able to extend a warm welcome to visitors from all over the world to the International Eucharistic Congress from June 10th, with the theme The Eucharist – Communion with Christ and with one another. Keep the Congress in your prayers.

If you would like to give further support to the Congress, please give your donation to Fr. Irwin or to Fr. O’Rourke.
