Weekday Masses

  • Gortnahoe – Tuesday and Thursday at 9.30am
  • Glengoole – Wednesday and Friday at 9.30am

Gluten Free Holy Communion
Gluten Free Holy Communion is available at all Masses.

Eucharistic Adoration

  • Glengoole Wed 10am to 2pm 
  • Gortnahoe Thurs 10am to 1pm.
    Come sit awhile in silent prayer.

Exam Mass
Annual Mass for those doing the Junior & Leaving Certificate exams will take place in Glengoole Church next Saturday 24th May at 6.00pm. All those doing exams and their families are invited to attend.

The Rosary
The Rosary will be recited at Our Lady’s Grotto, Glengoole on weekday evenings at 6pm, Saturday before 6pm Mass and Sunday 12 noon.

First Holy Communions
Congratulations to the 29 children from Gortnahoe, Ballysloe and Glengoole schools who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion this weekend.

St. Pio Relics
To visit Holycross Abbey, next weekend, May 24th & 25th. Veneration and ceremonies from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 9am to 8pm on Sunday (incorporating our annual St. Pio Pilgrimage on Sunday from 1.30pm). All are welcome. Contact 0504-43124 or hbparishoffice@gmail.com for information

Cemetery Masses
Fr. Walton PP is available to say the Annual Mass in each of the parish cemeteries on the following dates:

  • Tues, June 24th – Glengoole Church graveyard
  • Thurs, June 26th – Aglish Cemetery
  • Tues, July 8th – Ballinalackin cemetery
  • Thurs, July 10th – Good Shepherd Cemetery
  • Thurs, July 31st – Fennor Graveyard
  • Tues, Aug 12th  – Boulick Cemetery

All Masses will be at 7.30pm. Organising committees should contact Fr. Walton well in advance regarding the details of the Mass. Prayers for the Dead and Blessing of Graves in Sacred Heart Church grounds will take place after the 10.30am Mass on Sunday, June 1st.

Parish Jubilee Year Pilgrimage to Derry
Thurles Parish Jubilee Year Pilgrimage to Derry following in the footsteps of Sr. Clare Crockett, Ireland’s newest candidate for sainthood, who died in Ecuador on mission in 2016. From Sun-Wed, May 25th–28th; €300 pp – B&B plus lunch (*2) Daily Mass, spiritual programme, exploring the city of Derry, visiting the grave and sites associated with Sr. Clare, testimony from those who knew her. Film and Music at Glengoole Hall
Evening of Film and Music at Glengoole Hall, Saturday, 7th June, 6:30pm: a special screening presented by Molly Kiely of the short documentary At The Bottom of the Reen about Buddy’s Pub, followed by a collection of intimate musical performances filmed there last summer. This event is held in loving memory of the late Denis Kiely.
