Catholic Bishop’s Pastoral Letter welcoming Immigrants to Ireland
This Sunday The Irish Bishops have published a pastoral letter entitled “A Hundred Thousand Welcomes” to welcome migrants to Ireland. As Christians, we all have a responsibility to respond to the key question of immigration across our island and the world. Mindful that migration has been a central part of our history, this pastoral letter provides a space to us as ‘migrant pilgrim people’ to contemplate the causes of migration, the gifts that migrants bring to our Church and our country, the economic and social issues we all face in Ireland, and the importance of encounter in building a true sense of belonging in every parish and community.

The text of this pastoral Letter is available on the website CatholicBishops.ie  or by scanning the QR Code on the poster in each of the porches in both parish Churches.

Dear Lord,

There are times when I think I am alone,
unseen, unheard and unloved,
but you are there with me always.
You know me and as you say
in the scripture, you see me.
When I sit in quiet contemplation
you are there with me,
you hear my innermost thoughts;
you know my sorrows and regrets.
