  • Mary Fitzpatrick, whose funeral was held in Gortnahoe on Tuesday;
  • Mary O'Neill, formerly of Gurteen, Coalbrook, whose funeral was in Glengoole on Tuesday;
  • Shelia Dalton, Ballyphilip, Ballingarry, whose requiem Mass will be this Sunday (Feb 2nd) in Glengoole Church at 12.30pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Morning Masses at 9.30am

  • Gortnahoe: Tuesday at 9.30am
    No Mass this Thursday, Jan 30th.
  • Glengoole: Wednesday and Friday at 9.30am
  • Gluten Free Holy Communion is available at all Masses.

Eucharistic Adoration

  • Glengoole Wed 10am to 2pm    
  • Gortnahoe Thurs 10am to 1pm.
    Come sit awhile in silent prayer.

The Rosary
The Rosary will be recited before Mass in Glengoole every Saturday evening.

Ceremony of Light
Wednesday, Feb 5th in Glengoole Church at 7pm. As this is one of the final ceremonies, as part of their preparations for the sacrament for Confirmation, all confirmation children & their parents are to attend.

First Friday Communion Calls
Fr. Walton will bring Communion to the housebound, elderly & Sick (by prior arrangement) next Friday, 7th February after the 9.30am Mass in Glengoole Church.

Visitation of the Sick
An essential part of every priest’s duty and ministry is to visit those who are sick in his parish, whether in their homes or they are in hospital.  As stated on previous occasions, if you have a family member who is sick, in hospital or in nursing care anywhere, please let Fr. Walton know so that he may visit them and to administer the sacraments if and when required. Also if there are any elderly or housebound who would like to receive Holy Communion, please let him know so that he can add them to his monthly visitation list.

Annual Sacristan’s Collection
The annual collection for the Sacristans of both Churches is being taken up this week-end, Feb 1st/2nd. This collection is your means of expressing your gratitude for their work in both Churches throughout the year.  This is the first of the White envelopes to be found in your box of yearly envelopes. A reminder that payment by cheque for any collection throughout the year must be made out to “Gortnahoe Parish a/c”.

Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary will be visiting our parish from 2-4pm Saturday 8th February.

Ceremony in honour of St Bridget
Moycarkey Borris Parish are holding a ceremony in honour of St Bridget at Liathmore Church, Middlepiece, Two Mile Borris on Sunday 2nd February at 3.00pm and all are welcome to attend. Parking will be on the old main road close to the handball alley and anyone unable for the walk to the church will be facilitated. 

Vigil in Honour of Our Lady of Lourdes
Tues, Feb. 11th in Bóthar na Naomh Church, Thurles. Vigil will commence with Rosary at 6.15 p.m.; mass at 7.00 p.m., followed by Holy Hour. Celebrant: Fr. John Makoni, C.C., Cashel.

Breakfast Mornings Returning
Ballysloe Breakfast morning is returning after the break on Sunday 2nd February from 10am till 12.30. All are welcome – we look forward to seeing you again.

Charity Clover Bog Walk
Two-Mile-Borris on Mon, Feb 3rd. Registration at Bannons Pub 10am with Walk commencing @ 10.30am, with refreshments in Bannons Pub afterwards. All funds donated to Two-Mile-Borris community and Thurles Lions Club.

Men on the Move Exercise Classes
Men on the Move Exercise Classes will return on Monday 10th February in the Millennium Family Resource Centre 11:15-12:15. Tutor Biddy O'Dwyer (Fitness Instructor and mature adult exercise specialist). Please Contact Alice Teehan 083-1014313 for further information.

Saint Brigid’s Blessing
May Brigid bless the house wherein we dwell.
