Installation of Fr. Walton as our new Parish Priest on Friday 6th in Gortnahoe church
Congratulations to Fr. Walton, and thanks to Fr. Christy O'Dwyer, who led the ceremony, and to all who helped with this memorable event.

Family Masses 7th and 8th October
The theme is Thanksgiving. As usual there will be a music practice from half an hour before the start of each mass, and we warmly welcome anyone who would like to join us singing.

Eucharistic Adoration
Glengoole on Wednesdays 10am to 2pm
Gortnahoe on Thursdays 11am to 1pm

Eldercare services through MFRC Glengoole, Thurles Co. Tipperary:

  • Meals on wheels deliveries every Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Social group every Wednesday 1-3pm, includes soup, dinner & entertainment.
  • Laundry service.
  • Senior Alert scheme for the Gortnahoe-Glengoole area.
  • Dementia Cáfe 1st Tuesday of each month 11:30-1pm.
  • Social group every Tuesday at 11am, in the Old School House, The Commons.

Holy Communion at Home
If anyone is housebound and would like to receive Holy Communion – we can organise to have it brought to you safely.

The Rosary
The Rosary will be recited before Mass in Glengoole on Saturday evenings. Ask Mary to accompany you in the recitation of the Rosary and inspire you to take your prayer into your daily actions. The Rosary is a beloved prayer among Catholics around the world. It is a meditative aid that can bring people closer to Jesus, through his mother, Mary.

Sunday Matters Religious Programme on Tipp FM every Sunday from 7am to 8am.

St Vincent de Paul
There will be some Financial help available for students wishing to pursue Third Level Courses in the coming Academic Year. Please contact 061 317327 or any member of local St Vincent de Paul Society for further information and Application Forms. Proof of Registration from College will be necessary before Applications can be processed and Accommodation Costs should also be included.

Old School House
The Old School in Gortnahoe stood on the site where the Prayer Garden is now beside the Church. It is intended to record the history of the School. If anyone has photographs or paper clippings of the Old School in Gortnahoe, could they forward them to Richard Dunne, Graigue, phone 086 607 5281. All contributions will be copied and returned.

Community Café Volunteers
Glengoole Community Café – volunteers are needed to start this provisionally one morning per week as a space for people to meet.

Split the Pot
Split the Pot Envelopes available at usual outlets. Draw Sunday at 12pm in Gortnahoe Hall.

Bingo continues in Gortnahoe Hall
Gortnahoe Bingo continues in Gortnahoe Hall every Saturday night at 7pm. Over €2,660 in prize money. Parish support is appreciated.
