Mission Sunday
Sunday next, 23rd October is the Annual Mission Sunday, when the Mass and prayers will be offered for the success of the Missions, and the help of all our priests, nuns, brothers and lay people on the missions.

Preparing for the 2012 International Eucharistic Congress
The International Eucharistic Congress takes place somewhere in the world each four years to help people to appreciate the wonder and value of the Eucharist. The Eucharistic Congress Bell will visit Gortnahoe Parish on the afternoon of Wednesday 2nd November, visiting all five villages in the parish. Preparations for the visit will take place at Meeting in Gortnahoe Hall on Tuesday at 8.00. Please come.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
In the next few weeks members of St. Vincent de Paul Society will call to homes selling tickets for a raffle to raise some much needed funds. Tickets are €1.00 each, book of 6 for €5.00. The Raffle will take place at Gortnahoe Bingo on Saturday 29th October. Please support the Raffle. There will be a very important St. Vincent de Paul meeting in Ballysloe School on Monday night 17th Oct. at 7.30. All members please attend.

Pallottine College Collection
Pallottine College Collection will be taken up next week-end.

Glengoole Hall

Bingo
Our Anniversary Bingo will be held on Saturday 22nd October. € 2,300 in Prize money plus the Jackpot. Support from the parish most welcome

Gortnahoe Youth’s FC
Training has changed to Saturdays from Sat. 22nd Oct. 11.00 to 12.00 for U6/U8 boys and girls and u10 boys and 12.15 to 1.15 for girls teams only from U10 to U16. All in Gortnahoe Community Field.

Halloween Disco
Gortnahoe Community Field Annual Halloween Disco will take place on Friday 28th October from 7.00 to 9.00 for Primary School children only.

G.A.A. Lotto
There was no winner of the € 2,800 Jackpot on the 13th October at Hogans, Grange. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 10 and 15. Lucky Dip winners were Gearoid Fahey, Graigaheesha, Bridget Brennan, Glengoole, Paddy Coady, Johnstown and Sharon Barnaville, Fennor. €25 Prize winner was Campion Stores. Next Draw at Dollys, Glengoole on 20th October for €3,000.

Table Quiz
Table Quiz in support of the Hope Foundation will be held in Mary Willies on Friday 28th October 2011. Further details next week.

‘Hairspray’
Presentation Convent Secondary School, Thurles will present “Hairspray” in the Premier Hall from Thursday 20th October to Saturday 22nd October. Tickets can be booked from the school.

Dance Fitness Classes
Zambo Dance Fitness Classes will commence in Gortnahoe Community Hall on Thursday 20th October from 6.00 to 7.00. Admission €5.00 per class, running for eight weeks. Come along and have fun getting fit.
