Family Mass
A very warm welcome to all to our monthly Family Mass this Sunday in Glengoole at 10.00 and in Gortnahoe at 11.15.Our thoughts and prayers are directed especially to the children receiving their First Communion this year and to their families.
Thanks
Sincerest thanks to all who have contributed to the Easter Collection for the archbishop and priests of the diocese last week-end. If you have overlooked it, please contribute as soon as possible so that we can meet our essential target.
Morning Masses
Glengoole: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9.30.
Gortnahoe: each morning except Friday at 9.30.
First Thursday
Glengoole: Mass in Latin at 7.00
First Friday
Glengoole: Confessions 6.30. Mass 7.00.
Gortnahoe: Confessions 7.30. Mass 8.00.
First Saturday
Gortnahoe: Devotions of Reparation and Mass at 9.30.
Annual Mass for those doing Public Examinations this year
A very warm welcome is extended to all those doing public examinations this year, to their families and their friends to the Mass in Glengoole Church on Sunday next 8th May at 10.00. We sincerely invite many of the students to be involved in Readings and Prayers at this Mass. Volunteers please give your names to Fr. Joe or to Fr. O'Rourke during this week.
Introducing the New Missal
From September 2011 a new Mass Missal will be introduced. It will mean some changes in our mass responses. On your seat in the Church is a small leaflet with Questions and Answers which explains what the changes are and the reason for the changes. Everyone please take one.
Revision Course
An intensive Four Week Revision Course for Leaving Cert Students will be run in Gortnahoe N.S. starting on Monday 9th May from 7.30 to 8.30. The Course is confined to Leaving Cert Higher and Lower Level Maths. Please Text your name and level to 087 1482056 before Sunday 8th May. A minimum donation of € 5 per session. All proceeds going to St. Vincent de Paul.
Summer Clean Up
It was great during the week to see householders cutting the grass beside roads in part of the parish. What is the position regarding the Tidy Towns Committee? Any committees formed – names can be put in next newsletter.
Bingo
Sincere thanks to everyone who supported the Good Friday Bingo. Bingo continues this Saturday night – Two Jackpots - €1,000 and €200 on offer plus the weekly prize money of over € 1,500.
Easter Raffle
Gortnahoe Senior Citizens committee thanks everyone who supported the Easter Raffle. Congratulations to Phil Moloney, the winner.
GAA Lotto
No winner of the € 10,000 on 28th April at Hogans. Winning numbers were 3, 16, 20 and 24.
