Holy Communion to the sick and housebound
Fr. O'Rourke and Fr. Walsh will visit all the usual people with Holy Communion on Tuesday next, starting after morning Mass. They will be delighted to bring Holy Communion to anyone else who is unable to be at the Holy Week ceremonies. Please let either of them know.
Holy Thursday
Mass of Chrism in Cathedral, Thurles at 10.30. You are invited to this special annual Mass for the archdiocese.
Mass of the Lord's Supper
Mass of the Lord's Supper takes place in both churches at 8.00. Please bring your Trocaire contributions, in notes, rather than coins, if possible. Procession to the altar of repose at the end of Mass. Confessions after Mass. Holy Hour in Glengoole Church. From 11.100 to midnight.
Good Friday
Day of fast and abstinence. Ceremonies in both churches at 3.00, including The Passion, Adoration of the Cross and Holy Communion. Stations of the Cross in Gortnahoe Church at 7.30. A collection for the upkeep of The Holy Places will be taken up at each ceremony. Confessions at the end.
Good Friday Prayer around the Cross
This beautifully moving ceremony and period of prayer performed by young people from the parish together with the Gortnahoe Childrens Choir will take place by candle light in Glengoole Church on Good Friday night at 9.00. Come, pray and reflect.
Holy Saturday
Confessions in Glengoole at 12.00. and in Gortnahoe at 12.30. Ceremonies and Easter Mass at 9.00 in both Churches. No Mass at 6.30 or 7.45.
Easter Sunday
Easter Masses in Glengoole at 10.00 and in Gortnahoe at 11.15
Priests Collection
The Easter Collection for His Grace the Archbishop and the priests of the archdiocese will be taken up next weekend. It is the first Priests Collection for 2011. We ask everyone to make a generous start to the year by contributing what you are asked and so make sure that we meet the set target for this year, which we have not done for the last few years. We ask the usual collectors to kindly attend.
Gortnahoe Folk Choir
There will be a final practice in preparation for Good Friday and Easter Sunday this Wednesday, 20th April at 8.00 in Gortnahoe church. All singers please come along.
Gortnahoe Community Hall
Special Bingo will be held on Good Friday at 8.30. € 2,500 in prizes, plus Bonus and Easter Eggs.
Gortnahoe Senior Citizens
Afternoon Outing to Dove Hill (Tipperary Crystal), Carrick-on-Suir and Glenconnor Garden Centre, Clonmel on Tuesday 26th April, leaving Community Hall at 1.30. Refreshments in Slievenamon Golf course on the way home. Charge €10. Names to Post Office soon.
