The monthly Family Mass for February is this Sunday 6th in Glengoole at 10.00 and Gortnahoe at 11.15. Theme is ‘Celebrating Love’

Caring for the Sick
Friday next, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is World Day of Prayer for the Sick. To mark this day, special prayers and blessings for the sick and all who care for them will be offered at our Masses on Saturday night next in Glengoole at 6.30 and Gortnahoe at 7.45.

Prayer Vigil
A Three Hour Prayer Vigil in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes will be held in Thurles cathedral on Friday night 11th February from 7.30 to 10.30.

Maths Programme
A 6 weeks Maths Programme will be run in Gortnahoe N.S., starting on Monday 7th March from 7.00 to 8.00. This Course is aimed at Secondary pupils from 1st Year to 6th Year, run by a qualified maths teacher. If you feel you could do with an extra bit of help text your name. Age and School year to 087 1492056. Numbers limited. A minimum donation of € 5.00 per session. All proceeds going to the local St. Vincent de Paul Society.

A committee meeting will be held on Tuesday next at 7.30 p.m.

Drama
Glengoole-Gortnahoe Drama Group will stage a two-act Comedy “Tom, Dick, Harry” by Ray and Michael Cooney in Glengoole Hall on Thursday 24th, Friday 25th Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th February at 8.00.

G.A.A. Lotto Draw results

Prayer for the Sick from our Parish Prayer Book
Jesus, my friend, Jesus our physician and divine healer, I place into your hands all those who carry the cross of illness. Jesus, under your cross you felt its weight and worry, its pain and suffering. Please help all those who are sick, send your Holy Spirit with healing and strength, with hope and consolation. Be with all who are feeling weak at this time; be close to their families and all those who care for them. Lord, when you walked the earth, you searched out the sick and gave them your blessing and strength. I place all those who are sick into your arms and heart and pray for them and their intentions. I make this prayer in faith: I leave it in trust. Amen.
