Baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ

Morning Masses
Glengoole: Tuesday and Thursday at 9.30.
Gortnahoe: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.30.

Flowers
Sincerest thanks to all who made contributions to the Flower Fund last weekend. All further contributions are most welcome.

Apostolic Visitation; Penitential Service
Starting this week Most Rev Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto, will be the Apostolic Visitor to our diocese on behalf of Pope Benedict. The central event of this Visitation will be a Penitential Service in The Cathedral, Thurles on Sunday next 16th January at 3.00, in atonement for the sins committed against innocent children by priests and religious. Archbishop Collins will give the address. We invite and encourage as many of you as possible to attend this very prayerful ceremony.

Marriages 2011
We invite everyone, both men and women, who are getting married this year or next to make preparations for their marriage in good time. All preparations, both civil and religious, must be under way at least three months before the wedding. Contact the priest of your parish and the civil authority in very good time. They will help organise all that is necessary.

Community Learning in St. Patrick' College, Thurles

Thanks
Gortnahoe Hall Committee would like to thank householders and businesses for their donations and sponsorship for this year's Sale of Work. It was a great success and a most enjoyable day, despite the bad weather. The hall Committee would also like to thank all who helped out on the day.

New Years Greetings
Gortnahoe Hall Committee would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and look forward to your loyal support throughout 2011.

Slieveardagh Athletic Club
Training resumes on Tuesday and Thursday nights for the track and field indoor season. Training on Thursday nights takes place in Moyne new Athletic Hall from 6.30 to 7.30. Training is open to 7 year olds and older. We would also welcome any new members.

Schools Re-Opening
All schools re-open on Monday next after the holidays.
Colaiste Mhuire, Johnstown, Night Classes: Enrolment for a great many night Classes takes place on Tuesday 18th January from 7.30 to 8.30 in school.

GAA Lotto Draw Results
There was no winner of the €7,000 Jackpot on 6th January. Numbers drawn were 19, 20, 26 & 29. Luck Dip winners were Dolores Bowe, Gortnahoe, Alex Bartley, Graigue, Sean Maher, Cloneen, Castlecomer, Christina Finnegan, The Commons. Next Draw at Prouts on 13th January Jackpot € 7,200. Seller's Prize: Kevin Maher.
