Christmas Day
25th December 2010

Christmas Greetings
On behalf of everyone associated with the weekly Parish newsletter we extend our sincerest wishes for happiness and God's blessing on all our parishioners and everyone visiting the parish this Christmas season. Special good wishes go to all who keep in contact with the parish through reading our newsletter each week on the Parish web site Glengoole Gortnahoe. Net. If there are ever weeks when the newsletter does not appear it is probably due to circumstances beyond our control, but rest assured it would return. If people away from Ireland would like to include anything in the Newsletter please direct it to Fr. O'Rourke or Fr. Walsh. The weather leading up to Christmas has not been very good. In fact it has been truly difficult. This may help us to realise that for the Holy Family at the first Christmas it was also difficult. As we come to pray at the crib it again reminds us that the baby Jesus was born in a stable at Bethlehem. But at the same time the angels were singing his praises and the shepherds came to the stable and we are told in the Gospel that they went away joyful. May our celebration of Christmas this year bring us the sense of joy that was felt by the shepherds. Jesus is truly our redeemer.

Gratitude from Trocaire
We here at Trocaire would like to express our gratitude to the parishioners and priests of the diocese of Cashel and Emly for their support in 2010. This year you generosity has helped survivors of the Haiti earthquake and the floods in Pakistan and the hard work of the diocese during Trocaire's Annual Lenten campaign will support our long term development programmes across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Your support is greatly appreciated and is making a real difference to the lives of those in need. – Justin Kilcullen, Director of Trocaire.

Church Gate Collection
Please support the Church gate Collection on 1st & 2nd January in aid of the Zambia Immersion Project.
