The Rosary will be recited before Mass in Glengoole on Saturday evenings.

Cemetery Masses
Following discussion the cemetery masses for 2023 will take place in the churches at the weekend masses over the summer.

  • 23rd July – 10.30am, Gortnahoe – Aglish
  • 30th July – 10.30am, Gortnahoe – Fennor
  • 6th August – 10.30am, Gortnahoe – Good shepherd
  • 13th August – 10.30am, Gortnahoe – Boulick

Holy Land Pilgrimage
The Holy Land Pilgrimage will take place from 22nd to 30th September 2023 to Bethlehem, Nazareth & Sea of Galilee with Fr. Celsus Tierney – only 4 seats remaining, contact Holycross Parish Office at 0504-43124 or Marian Travel on 01-8788159 for information.
 
Annual Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock
The Annual Pioneer Pilgrimage to Knock will take place next Sunday 16 July. Mass at 3pm with Anointing of the Sick beforehand at 2:30pm. Newsletters & Emblems available at PTAA stand in St John’s Rest & Care Centre or via www.pioneers.ie

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock
Cashel and Emly Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on August 6th led by Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly. Why not make it an extended break to include 3 nights accommodation at Knock House Hotel including an escorted 3 Night Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine, beginning 3rd August. Return transfers via train or bus, 3 nights full board and all entertainment and excursions included.

Day trips to Westport, Ballintubber Abbey, Croagh Patrick, Fr. Peyton Centre and National Museum. The Pilgrimage concludes with Mass in the Basilica celebrated by Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly on our Annual Diocesan Day. Cost €549.00 per person sharing. Single supplement €150.00. 1848 Rising Commemorative Walk
The historian Dr Thomas Mc Grath will lead the 17th annual Famine 1848 Walk in Ballingarry on Saturday, 29 July at 3pm. The Walk takes place on the 175th anniversary to the day of the 1848 Rising during the Famine. It starts in The Commons and proceeds to Famine Warhouse 1848, the state national heritage site. A major new work on 1848 by Prof William Nolan will be launched by Dr Mc Grath on the occasion. All are welcome.

Ballynonty Rescheduled Festival
The Ballynonty Rescheduled Festival dedicated to the memory of the late Bernie Hayes takes place on:

  • Saturday 8th July 8pm – Concert featuring Folk That
  • Sunday    9th July 2pm -  Children’s races, Dog show, Bongo and numerous side shows
  • All proceeds will go to upkeep of the community field.

Bingo continues in Gortnahoe Hall
Gortnahoe Bingo continues in Gortnahoe Hall every Saturday night at 7pm. Over €2,660 in prize money. Parish support is appreciated.
