Gortnahoe Community Hall Christmas Draw
The Hall committee thank all who supported the Christmas Draw last Sunday in aid of the Community Hall. A Donation was presented to the local St Vincent de Paul.
Moonless darkness stands between.
Past, the Past, no more be seen!
But the Bethlehem-star may lead me
To the sight of Him Who freed me
From the self that I have been.
Make me pure, Lord: Thou art holy;
Make me meek, Lord: Thou wert lowly;
Now beginning, and alway:
Now begin, on Christmas day.
–
Gerard Manley Hopkins S.J. (1844 – 1889)
O little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by;
Yet in the dark street shineth
The everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.
