Trocaire Collection for Famine Victims in East Africa
We all have seen the terrible suffering and death because of the Famine in East Africa, especially in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. These are poor countries, but especially desperate now because of so much time without any rain. It is the worst drought in the last twenty years. Starving and dying people, especially the children, are being brought huge distances to Refugee Camps in the hope of finding some food and water. How can we help? Trocaire volunteers are working in these areas and among the starving. If we contribute generously to Trocaire it will mean that food, medicine and water can be sent to famine areas, despite great difficulty and danger. This appeal to your generosity goes out for the Church Collection this week-end, 23rd & 24th July. This is certainly an Emergency Appeal by Trocaire. If you do not have what you would like to give today, it can be given to Fr. Joe or Fr. O’Rourke or direct to Trocaire at Trocaire, Freepost NS244, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
