If anyone is housebound and would like to receive Holy Communion – we can organise to have it brought to you safely.

Holycross Abbey Solemn Novena 2022
The Holycross Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help will run from 8th to 16th September and will welcome pilgrims back in person for the first time in three years.  Weekday sessions at 7am, 10.30am, 4.30pm & 7.30pm (please note no 9.30pm session this year and there is a 12.30pm session on Sunday but no 4.30pm). Anointing of the Sick will take place on Saturday 10th at 2pm, Blessing of Infants on Sunday 11th at 2.30pm and the Penitential Service is on Thursday 15th at 7.30pm

Supporting Catholic Parents Meeting
The ‘Hook of Faith’ group will hold a zoom conference for parents on Tuesday 6th September from 8pm to 9pm.  The topic: ‘Supporting Catholic Parents: sharing the Catholic vision of love and human sexuality with our children’.  To take part send an email to: thehookoffaith@gmail.com

Drive In Bingo
Gortnahoe Community Hall presents drive in bingo this Saturday and every Saturday in Cantwell's carpark @ 5.00 pm, gates open @ 3.45 pm, over €3,000 in prize money, local support always appreciated.

Financial Help for Third Level Students
There will be some financial help available for students wishing to pursue Third Level Courses in the coming Academic Year. Please contact 061 317327 or any member of local St Vincent de Paul Society for further information and Application Forms. Proof of Registration from College will be necessary before Applications can be processed and Accommodation Costs should also be included.

Millennium Men on the Move

Focus on men's health, positive ageing, maintaining and improving mobility levels, how to work around pain and health issues that may arise and nutrition advice.  Come along on 12th Sept. @ 11.30 am for more information and to let us know what you would like included.  Followed by a 6-week health and fitness programme depending on your needs and ability starting 19th Sept.

Concert on Friday September 30th, Thurles Cathedral
The Celtic Brothers (formerly known as The Willoughby Brothers) will appear in Concert on Friday September 30th, 2022, Thurles Cathedral.  Tickets now available in the Parish Office, Cathedral Street & Bookworm, Liberty Square. Ticket Donation: €30.00. All proceeds towards the Cathedral “Raise the Roof” Project.

Season of Creation
The Season of Creation has a special significance for the Catholic Church, particularly since Pope Francis established 1 September as an annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. The Season of Creation is marked throughout the Christian world from 1 September to 4 October (Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi) and celebrates the joy of creation as well as encouraging awareness-raising initiatives to protect the natural environment.
