The regulations from 10th May are summarised below.
In Glengoole there is a limit of 50 people for masses. In Gortnahoe there is a limit of 50 people (obeying social distance regulations) in the main aisle, plus a smaller number of people (socially distanced) in the side aisles.
Funerals
There is a limit of 50 mourners permitted at the service in both churches. Related events, either before or after, should not take place. Funerals are still considered private family events and all notices in newspapers or online should be clear about this. Funeral services should continue to be live streamed to help reduce numbers attending. Attendance at wakes in private homes and at funeral homes remains unchanged i.e., immediate family only and people should be discouraged from queuing to pay respects.
Weddings
50 guests permitted for service. For celebrations/receptions, a maximum of 6 people is permitted for indoor gatherings and 15 people for outdoor gatherings.
Other uses not permitted
Use of religious premises for any other purposes/parochial activities/community meetings etc. is not permitted in line with Government restrictions on organised indoor gatherings.
