October Family Mass
October Family Mass is this Sunday 5th October in Glengoole at 10.00 and in Gortnahoe at 11.15. It marks Day for Life and the Theme is the care for everyone from the moment of conception to death. Thanks for coming.

Parish Annual Meeting
Parish Annual Meeting at Fr. O’Rourkes Monday at 8.00. Have a look at the special posters in the Church porches.

St. Vincent de Paul Society Meeting
St. Vincent de Paul Society Meeting will be on Monday night at 7.30 in Ballysloe National School.

Anniversary Bingo
Anniversary Bingo will take place on Saturday 11th October in Gortnahoe Hall. €2,500 in prize money. Support from the parish would be appreciated.

Gortnahoe Health Centre
A Public Meeting will be held in Gortnahoe Hall on Wednesday 15th October at 8.00 in relation to the retirement of Dr. Edward Fitzpatrick and the imminent closure of our Gortnahoe and Ballysloe Health Centres. Politicians will attend. All interested please attend.

Launch of ‘400 Club’ Draw
Meeting the cost of parish maintenance and development has made it necessary to raise more funds, which will be undertaken with the launch of a 400 Club, with great prizes next month. Please support.

Lotto Results
There was no winner of the €16,800 Jackpot. Lucky Dip winners were Helen Heffernan, Glengoole, Martin Taylor, c/o Michael Cahill, Trish Dwyer, Longford Pass, Tom Fogarty, Glengoole. €25 Sellers prize winner was Gerry Cahill. Next Draw at Prouts on 9th October for Jackpot of €17,000.

Vintage & Modern Tractor and Car Run
A Vintage & Modern Tractor and Car run in aid of North Kilkenny Branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association will be on Sunday 19th October from Johnstown at 11.30. Full details on posters or from Margaret Barnaville at 086 0617033

Fitness Classes back in Glengoole Hall
Fitness Classes in Glengoole Hall are now back on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30. All abilities welcome. €7.00 per class or 2 for €10.00. Contact Nicole @ Routine Fitness & Weight Management.

Bridge Classes for beginners
Urlingford Bridge Club are holding Bridge Classes for beginners in the Urlingford Arms, beginning on Tuesday 7th, Contact Mary Healy at 086 1575809 or any Club member.

The School of Prayer
An eleven week DVD Course on the psalms will begin in Urlingford on the week beginning Monday 20th October at a time to be decided. Cost is €30. It includes a study pack. Please contact Cathleen Shortall at 056 8831061 on or before Friday 11th October
